  • HOLY ANGELS SCHOOL
    By 1919 St. Mary's School had been outgrown, and the Separate School Board decided to build Holy Angels School to serve the primary grade pupils of Cliff Bungalow.
  • HOLY ASCENSION RUSSO - ORTHODOX CHURCH
    Although it was built by John Lopushinsky as late as 1920, Holy Ascension Church is a tripartite structure with a central unit that is slightly larger than the other two churches at Skaro.
  • HOLY CROSS UKRAINIAN CATHOLIC CHURCH
    The rural community of Skaro is known for its three magnificent churches. Of these, Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Church is by far the largest.
  • HOLY TRINITY RUSSO-ORTHODOX CHURCH
    Constructed in 1928, Holy Trinity is one of a handful of cruciform churches built by Harry Holowaychuk in the 1920s and 1930s.
  • IMPERIAL BANK BUILDING
    One of the William T. Williams' finest designs was that of the Imperial Bank Building on Sixth Avenue, which opened in 1913.
  • INTERNATIONAL COAL AND COKE COMPANY OVENS
    Coke is produced when coal is heated to very high temperatures under controlled condi¬tions, and is essential to the smelting of iron, zinc and other ores.
  • KELLY BLOCK
    Soon after his arrival in Edmonton in 1911, Ramsey opened a store in the Tegler Building (now replaced by the Bank of Montreal).
  • KNOX UNITED CHURCH
    The first Presbyterian service in Calgary, conducted in June of 1883 in the I.G. Baker and Co. store, was the result of a petition made to Colonel James Walker to the Presbyterian Superintendent of Missions.
  • LACOMBE SAFEWAY
    This building represents the early stages of a trend away from locally based business. It was built in 1924 and was perhaps one of the first chain stores in Lacombe.
  • LANCASTER BUILDING
    The Lancaster was begun in 1912, but, due to the outbreak of World War I, it remained a steel skeleton until hostilities ceased in 1918.
