  • COURT HOUSE, 1902
    The Town Office building was built by Patrick Navin, a contractor from Cranbrook, from the designs of David Ewart, Chief Architect for the Federal Department of Public Works.
  • DANIEL RILEY RESIDENCE
    Riley and his family moved into this modest one-and-one-half storey cottage in 1900.
  • DAY'S BLOCK
    Like many of its wooden contemporaries, Day's Block has a false front to conceal its roofline and to make the building appear larger than it actually is.
  • DR. ROULEAU HOUSE
    This is the oldest building in the Mission district and one of a very few in Calgary pre-dating 1890.
  • ELDORENA
    Settlers began to arrive within the vicinity of present-day Eldorena as early as 1887.
  • EWART-DUGGAN HOUSE
    The Ewart-Duggan House, built in 1887, is thought to be the oldest brick residence still standing in the province of Alberta.
  • FENSALA HALL
    In 1891, the Icelandic women decided to form a ladies' aid society which they named Vonin.
  • FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH
    The original First Baptist Church was built in 1888, but was subsequently destroyed by fire. It was rebuilt in 1900, but a growing congregation and the crowding of business blocks around the original site led the congregation to decide on relocation and construction of yet another new church.
  • FORT CALGARY
    F-Troop of the North-West Mounted Police, commanded by Inspector E.A. Brisebois, established Fort Calgary on this site, south-west of the junction of the Bow and Elbow Rivers in August 1875.
  • FORT WHITE EARTH AND THE GRIST MILL
    Downstream from Victoria, near the confluence of the White Earth and North Saskatchewan Rivers, are the remains of another, earlier, fur trading post. It was known as Fort White Earth, or Lower Terre Blanche.
