  • CANADIAN PACIFIC RAILWAY STATION (MEDICINE HAT)
    It was the coming of the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1883 that made Medicine Hat and guaranteed its future.
  • CHARLES C. SHORT RESIDENCE
    Soon after his marriage in 1904, Charles Short engaged Mr. Doty to build this substantial two-storey wood-frame home.
  • CHINESE LAUNDRY, 1895
    The Chinese Laundry is located in an area which was once the core of Fort Macleod's Chinatown.
  • CHRIST CHURCH ANGLICAN, 1886
    The first Anglican Church built in Fort Macleod was completed in 1885 on the present site. However, shortly afterwards it burned to the ground.
  • CHRIST CHURCH MILLARVILLE
    Christ Church was constructed in 1896 at the instigation of the Reverend Webb-Peploe, the first Anglican minister in the Millarville area.
  • CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE
    A Methodist congregation was officially formed in 1886, although it was not until 1902 that this octagonally shaped church was constructed by local contractor Percy Taylor for $1,395.00.
  • CLARENCE BLOCK
    The Clarence Block at one time house the law office of Lougheed and his partner R.B. Bennett (late Prime Minister of Canada), as well as Max Aitken and John E. Brownlee (Premier of Alberta from 1925 to 1935).
  • CLARKE RESIDENCE
    This was the residence of Hugh Clarke, a master carpenter, builder and later, contractor, who worked on many of Red Deer's early buildings and larger residences.
  • COLEMAN MERCANTILE STORE
    In 1904 the Coleman Mercantile Company, owned by Smith Brothers of Lethbridge, con¬tracted Edmund Disney to build the first major commercial building in Coleman.
  • COTTAGE HOSPITAL
    Lacombe's first hospital opened in this building in February 1908 as a private enterprise run by a Mrs. Trotter.
