  • VICTORIA SETTLEMENT
    In 1878, the claims of the residents of Victoria were documented by another survey, but these were not formalised until 1884 with the laying out of river lots one through nine east of the Reserve.
  • W.B. GALBRAITH RESIDENCE
    "Oiseau Bungalow" was constructed in the summer of 1911 as a residence for Mr. W. Breden Galbraith, local agent for the Saskatchewan Land and Homestead Company.
  • WALKER HOUSE AND INGLEWOOD BIRD SANCTUARY
    The Walker House built in 1910, is a two-story brick structure with sandstone trim and hipped roof.
  • WALTON BLOCK
    The Walton Block was erected by Robert E. Walton in 1900.
  • WARD RESIDENCE
    A $4,600 permit for this house was taken out by Magrath and Holgate in November, 1912. The first occupants were Muriel and Edward Ward. Originally from Hamilton, they came to The Highlands in 1913 by way of Morinville, where Harry had a hardware store
  • WES JOHNSTON RESIDENCES
    Wes Johnston built two houses on his corner lot at the present 18 Avenue and 75 Street.
  • WESLEY METHODIST CHURCH
    In the spring of 1907 a member of the downtown McDougall Methodist Church began a Sunday school for children of fellow West End congregation members in her 115 Street home. This quickly proved too small, and a tent was erected on 116 Street and 100 Avenue.
  • WESTERN CANADA COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY STREET
    In 1903, the CPR granted 20 acres to Western Canada College, a private school for boys.
  • WHEELER RESIDENCE
    This small square frame house with a steeply pitched hip roof was probably built by Charles Schuneman who acquired title to the lot in 1911.
  • WHITFORD HOUSE
    Known locally as the Anderson House, this is the last remaining in situ example of a Métis house within the Lobstick Settlement.
