  • GALT GARDENS, 1908
    Over the 103 years of its existence, Galt Gardens Park has evolved from an expanse of native prairie to an attractively landscaped park in the heart of Lethbridge.
  • GALT HOSPITAL
    As the need for hospital services increased, it became clear that the Galt company hospital, an 1891 wood frame building, could not meet the demand.
  • GARIEPY HOUSE
    Joseph Hormisdas Gariepy came to Edmonton in 1892, and through astute business practice and investment in land, became one of the town’s leading citizens.
  • GARRY THEATRE
    The Garry Theatre opened to much fanfare on November 7, 1936.
  • GAS SEEPAGE AND FLARE ROYALITE NO. 2
    "Royalite No. 14" blew in on Easter Sunday, 1929. Geologically, it was the highest well in the Turner Valley field, and it produced some of the "driest" gas.
  • GASKELL RESIDENCE
    This house was most likely built between 1918 and 1920. Wilber Sever Metcalf, who purchased the property in December 1919, was a farmer.
  • GATEWAY HOTEL
    Built by Lemuel Sexsmith in 1906, the Oxford (Gateway) Hotel was typical of many early Alberta hostelries.
  • GEM THEATRE
    The Gem is one of Edmonton’s oldest theatres built especially for the purpose of showing movies.
  • GIBBARD BLOCK
    In 1913 the Gibbard Block was described as “the latest idea in architecture, comfort, modern equipment and convenience.”
  • GIBSON BLOCK
    William Gibson, a realtor who listed his profession as “Gentleman” on the certificate of title for this property, is the namesake of this eccentrically shaped building.
