Checker Lake

Category : Lake

This lake was named after Jack Checkers who used to work the trapline surrounding the lake. Checkers remains a mysterious character, and is reputed to be a great storyteller who once rode with Jesse James. No one is sure whether his name was actually Checkers, or whether if the name was given to him because of the checkered shirts he always wore.
