Big Slough

When the name for the locality was officially approved in 1963, Father Vantroys, an Oblate of Mary Immaculate, stated "A small settlement of six cabins is located at the east end of the slough. The name Big Slough was a very old name." He also explained that the name was a translation of the Cree word Atatchikameg.

Approximately 231 km east north-east of High Level.
