Big Mountain Creek

Category : Creek

Origin of the name Big Mountain Creek is not precisely known; however, its source is near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, so the name may be descriptive. The feature was well known by this name as early as 1905, when it appears on a federal government map. The Hudson's Bay Company had a post at Lake Saskatoon, just north of this feature, and many trails around it are shown in a 1905 map of the area.

Flows north into Wapiti River approximately 12 km south-east of Grande Prairie.
