Atikkamek Creek

Atikkamek is a variation of a Cree word meaning whitefish. The name shows on maps as early as 1917 and is written "atikameg." Other variations of the word in Alberta place names include utikuma, atikameg, and utikoomak. It is likely descriptive of the abundance of the fish in the creek.

Flows west into Iosegun River, approximately 140 km south-east of Grande Prairie.
