The Crowsnest Pass Municipal Unification Act, consolidated the towns of Blairmore, Coleman, the villages of Bellevue, Frank and Hillcrest Mines, and several other small hamlets in the Crowsnest Pass, under one municipal government. The area included is about 150 square kilometres, with a population of 7500. The Act provided for municipal government by nine aldermen (three wards) and a mayor elected by the entire municipality.
