Bess, Mount

This mountain, 3216 m in altitude, and the nearby pass were named at the time of an expedition in 1911 by Dr. J. Norman Collie (see Collie Creek) and A.L. Mumm (see Mumm Peak) after Bessie Gunn of Lac Ste. Anne. She became the wife of M.C. McKeen, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Lac Ste. Anne, who held a seat in the United Farmers of Alberta Government during its term (1921-1935).

Approximately 103 km west north-west of Jasper.
