Andromeda, Mount

The locally well-established name for this mountain was officially approved in 1959. For years, it has had the name painted on the rock peak finder located in front of the Columbia Icefield Chalet. The name comes from Greek Mythology (wife of Perseus and daughter of Cassiope and King Cepheus) and is the name of a northern constellation. The name was suggested by Major Rex Gibson, former President of the Alpine Club of Canada.
