Allan, Mount
Category : Mountain | |
The name for this mountain, which is 2789 m in altitude, was suggested by Mr. Duncan Crockford, in honour of Dr. J. A. Allan (1884-1955), formerly of the Department of Geology at the University of Alberta. Dr. Allan spent much of his time in the Rocky Mountains doing field work, and he also gave a great deal of attention to surveying Alberta's coal resources. The peak was officially named in September 1948. |
