Aden
Category : Locality | |
The first postmaster, Herman E. Anderson, requested that the area be called “Aden,” after a seaport located at the southern end of the Red Sea, in Arabia, now South Yemen. The post office opened in 1913. Anderson had been a sailor prior to immigrating to Canada to homestead. Some area residents suggested that the Grassy Butte Hills might have reminded Anderson of the coastal regions of Arabia. |
