The Last Man to Hang in Alberta - People

When seven members of the Cook family were found murdered in their Stettler home, local police embarked on an investigation that led to two trials and involved dozens of people including legal enforcers, previous criminals and average citizens.

Among the most significant individuals involved in the case are Robert Raymond Cook, his person as complex as anyone, the battery of lawyers surrounding his defence and those who pushed for his conviction. Regardless of their belief in the innocence or guilt of Cook, each personality comprised the landmark case that exists as the last execution to take place in Alberta.
