David Duggan, the son of Thomas Duggan and Francis
Willis, was born on 5 May 1879. He grew up in Builth, Wales.
Duggan moved to Alberta when he was older, eventually
settling in Edmonton in 1905. In addition to his work as a bond dealer,
Duggan also engaged in a number of social activities, including work with
the local Rotary Club.
By 1921, and for the next two years, Duggan served as
mayor of Edmonton, before moving on to the legislature.
Duggan was critical of Aberhart from the beginning, and
even published “A Review of Aberhart’s Promises” in 1939.
He and his wife Marian had four children. |
