Donalda and District Museum

Donalda & District Museum building

The Donalda & District Museum is located at 5001 Railway Avenue and Main Street, Donalda. The collection at the museum includes an outstanding lamp collection, featuring over 850 lamps, such as kerosene, parlor, and Aladdin, dating from the 1600s to the 1960s. The museum’s collection also contains numerous pioneer artefacts, including a mouse-proof kitchen cabinet, advertising tins, and salt and pepper shakers, as well as Métis artefacts. Three historic buildings are also part of the site: the 1924 Donalda Co–operative Creamery, the 1932 Historic Imperial Bank of Canada Building, and a 1909 CN Railroad Station.

Donalda & District Museum offers an educational tour on the Evolution of Lighting for all grade levels. Antique artefact matching games and the “What’s It?” quiz are offered for enjoyment. Tours of the museum, the creamery, and the train station are all available, although the train station and creamery tours are seasonal.
