Bowden Pioneer Museum

Bowden Pioneer Museum exterior

The Bowden Pioneer Museum is located at 2011– 20 Avenue, Bowden, Alberta. The collection at the museum includes a large photographic collection with many works of the early pioneer photographer, Robert Hoare. There are also pioneer items, including household and personal items, as well as some rocks and fossils. Military items from both World Wars are on display at the museum. There is a small archive, which contains material about families and events in the community.

The Bowden Pioneer Museum offers the use of its artefacts to high school multi-media classes as a base for projects. These projects count toward their final marks. Tours of the museum are offered to the school for any grades, but are most used by the elementary grades. The Bowden Pioneer Museum makes its facilities available to the school at any time, but prior arrangements must be made when the museum is closed.
