This post office, which operated from August 1903 through February 1922, was named by the Lutheran pastor, a Mr. Gruber, who was here at the time that the people asked for an office. The name honoured the German Chancellor. A large number of the early residents were of German origin.

Approximately 23 km west north-west of Ponoka.
