Stewart Canyon

In 1886, Mr. George A. Stewart (1830-1917) of the Dominion Land Survey was commissioned to survey the area and furnish plans for a proposed townsite. He became the Superintendent of the new park (now Banff National Park) in 1887, a position he held for ten years. This canyon was named after him.

Approximately 12 km north north-east of Banff.
