The name for this peak, which is 2999 m in altitude, is the French word for needle. It is descriptive of the shape of the peak and was submitted by A.O. Wheeler (see Wheeler Flats) in 1918.

Approximately 105 km north-west of Banff, on the Alberta-B.C. boundary.
